[Update]: Limbo Confirmed For PSN, Steam

by Matt Miller on Jun 30, 2011 at 07:21 AM

[Update]: Playdead has confirmed that the former XBLA exclusive will be heading to competing platforms.

Speaking with Joystiq, Playdead's CEO Dino Patti confirmed yesterday's rumor, telling the site that "Limbo is in production for Steam and PSN, and is coming very soon."

Patti also stated that the developer will be handling the ports in-house. While Microsoft can't be happy about losing one of its premier downloadable exclusives, we're just glad that more gamers will be exposed to such a memorable title.

[Original Story]: We'll bet you the price of a new downloadable game that you can guess which one.

No, we're not sending you $15 if you guessed PlayStation 3. It was a figure of speech. But you'd still be right.

GameSetWatch has noticed that the Korean Rating Board has put up a rating for Limbo by Sony Computer Entertainment Korea. While that isn't a guarantee that the game will come out here in the States, it makes the likelihood quite high.

It's great news for gamers who only own a PlayStation 3. Limbo was one of Game Informer's favorite downloadable games of 2010, as evidenced by our review.

Did you play Limbo on XBLA? If not, would you pick it up on PSN if the game does indeed end up coming to Sony's system?
