Call of Duty: Black Ops has already proven itself perpetually and overwhelmingly popular among shooter fans, but in the wake of its third map pack release, it has earned yet another accolade. Activision's latest military shooter is now the best-selling game in U.K. history.

GfK ChartTrack (via MCV) confirmed Black Ops' impressive sales numbers across the Atlantic today, stating that the game has sold 3,777,411 copies in the United Kingdom as of June 25. The previous record holder? Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, of course, which has sold 3,702,410 copies.

Kudos to Activision and Treyarch for the continued success. Let's see if they can pull it off again with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 later this year.
