Peggle Free On Android Phones Today

by Jeff Marchiafava on Jun 21, 2011 at 09:02 AM

When PopCap kicked off its support for Android phones with the release of Chuzzle, everyone had the same reaction: What the heck is a Chuzzle, and where is Plants vs. Zombies? Two weeks later PopCap soothed our cranky souls by giving away PvZ for a day, but the casual game developer isn't done. Today PopCap added Peggle to the Amazon App Store, which will be free for the next 24 hours.

If you haven't downloaded the Amazon App Store yet, prepare yourself for some hassle. It's not available in the Android App Store (since an app store selling another app store would cause the Universe to collapse on itself), so you'll have to sign up and download the app through Amazon's website on your phone. Once you get it downloaded and set up and account though, you'll be downloading Peggle in no time -- provided you have a WiFi connection, as the 70MB game cannot be downloaded over your mobile network.

Is all this extra hassle worth it? If you've played Peggle before, you know the answer.
