The lights are on
When I think of stop-motion animation, the first things that usually come to mind are wacky claymation shows like Mr. Bill or Wallace & Gromit, not high quality special effects and top notch fight choreography. This high octane short film by John J. (YouTube user counter 656), shows Cloud slashing robots while driving his signature motorcycle and engaging Sephiroth in a flashy, high-flying battle. A much-beloved FF VII character also makes her overdue return.
The entire thing is in Japanese, but it is definitely worth watching. If you've played the game you can probably deduce what's going on, anyway. Be sure to check out John H's blog post chronicling the behind the scenes of Final Fantasy VII: Stop-Motion. That's where I learned the tape over characters' joints towards the end of the film was to counteract loosening joints.

Now I can watch Aerith dieing! BUT WITH ACTION FIGURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this was pretty awesome, Go FF7
This was all kinds of awesome. I really wish I had this kind of talent.
Wow!! thats dedication!!
nice work.
Wow...for a bunch of action figures dukin' it out in somebody's house, this was actually pretty awesome. This takes a great deal of time and dedication, and I certainly think that it paid off. The fight scenes were really great, Cloud and Aeris fighting together was priceless, and there was cool usage of the Advent Children remix of "One-Winged Angel" (one of my favorite soundtrack songs).
I have to admit, I was a bit concerned about this because FFVII is one of my favorite games of all time, but this was definitely worth watching.
This must've taken forever to put together. Awesome result though. Where else can you see Cloud fight Gundams and go Super Saiyan? Lol.
Thats so cool.......but I wonder how long that took
John H. you're the man! Epic Win! Halo: Reach next!
LOTS OF ACTIOOOOOON!
