CBS' Sega Coverage Could Use Some Work

by Jeff Cork on Jun 20, 2011 at 08:46 AM

A few days ago, the Sega Pass service was hacked, potentially compromising user's account information. That kind of security breach has been happening a lot lately, with companies like Bethesda, Epic Games, and most famously Sony experiencing encounters with various hacker groups. As you might expect CBS News reported on the story. The results show that the network may not have done all of its homework, however.

Twitter user FutureDave posted the image above, which is hilarious for a few reasons. First is the inexplicable use of the Sega Genesis logo. Next is the fact that the system accompanying the story isn't even a Genesis, but the Genesis/Sega CD hybrid the Sega CDX, which was released about 17 years ago.

Oh well.
