While most gamers associate the rugged face of the male version of Shepard with the Mass Effect series, many discerning players actually prefer the voiceovers (done by Jennifer Hale) of the female version of Shepard.

To appease those fans, BioWare's marketing director David Silverman tweeted today that the female Shepard will appear side-by-side with her male counterpart on the box art to the Mass Effect 3 collector's edition.

Nice, Its great they're giving Female shepard some love! Shepard's epicness must be represented in all kinds of way, even sex gender!

I wonder which kind of female they will choose? Brunette? Sweet face or bad-ass face? At least make her attractive guys.

Eww... Girls are icky! Nah, not really. I just hope they make it looked cooler than the steelbox for the ME2 Collector's Edition. The picture of Shepard squatting down looked pretty weak.

Hell yes! I was just having a discussion about this the other day: why is the female Shepard never highlighted in any of their marketing? I'm glad that they decided to include her this time around. :)

Even without this awesome news, I'm still planning on getting the Collector's Edition. IF they do a Collector's and Legendary a la Halo 3 and Reach, I will be upgrading to that instead!

Awesome! I always prefer the female Shepard and have completed about six playthroughs so far. Only did a male Shep to be a completionist.

Good on them, but Bioware has been acting pretty politically correct as of late. Especially after playing DA2, I have to wonder what gives?

i still think it would be better if they did something reminiscent of the ME2 Collector's Edition for ME3, as a lot of people (wisely) choose not to use the default faces

Hopefully this means they'll come up with a decent lookin default female like they did with DA2, on the other hand I absolutely hated her voice in the game. To be fair Mark Meer has started to drive me nuts as well, but I think that is mostly because of Shepherd's *** smile.

I hate hale's voice acting, her lines sound so forced unlike meer's va which I think is very good
