The lights are on
While many gamers are familiar with the song that plays during Portal 2's end credits, you may not realize that the much-loved first-person puzzler from Valve also featured a song by The National. Now the developer is holding a contest challenging fans to create a music video for this track.
From today until July 15, fans can create and upload their own music videos for "Exile Vilify" by the National to YouTube. Uploaded videos must be tagged with "PORTAL2NATIONALEXILE" to qualify for the contest. In addition to becoming the official music video for "Exile Vilify," the winning entry will score an Eastwood guitar signed by the band, a big box of shirts, posters, and other prizes from Valve, and some bonus shirts from Jinx.
Valve says that the fan-created videos can include clips from the game, live-action footage, shots of the band -- whatever it takes to make the best music video possible.
For full rules and details on the contest check out the official website. And if you're wondering what "Exile Vilify" sounds like, check out the video below.

I Don't know that was a pretty awesome vid I have to say
I'm interested to see what comes from this. I like me a good music video.
cool. i like still alive as my fave portal song and i hope it stays that way.
Guess I could have a go at it but I likely won't put as much effort into this as I did with the Saxxy Awards.
Sweet, I'll be waiting to see who wins
What??? Get outta town, I LOVE the National! Saw them in concert last year and they were fantastic :)
I also love Portal 2, which I just got on sale at Gamestop last week. SO glad I gave into the hype! Once I heard Stephen Merchant was a lead character I was sold.
I always thought this song was called Sucker's Luck. Now I know.
Heh, something tells me we are already looking at the winner in this posted video
