The lights are on
Double Fine's Psychonauts is one of the most beloved cult titles of all times, and now the company is the sole owner of the publishing rights to the game. The new came through a tweet by Double Fine senior gameplay programmer Anna Kipnis, who said:"Omg Double Fine is now the sole publisher of Psychonauts!! If you buy it now (on Steam, for instance), the proceeds go to us! #Psychonauts"I asked her to clarify, and she responded that Double Fine has always owned the IP, but previously the publishing rights were owned by Majesco, which originally published the game on Xbox, PS2, and PC in 2005. Now according to Kipnis, the rights have reverted back to Double Fine. The proceeds from all future digital sales of Psychonauts (which is available on Steam and Xbox Live) will now go entirely to Double Fine. If you haven't played the game, you should, it's about as charming as it gets. Let's hope Double Fine uses the money from sales to make a long-awaited sequel.

Never played it, its on the list though. Thank god for backwards compatibility.
Ive heard about this title a lot in the past, guess its time to finally investigate
Yes! That means they can make a sequel!
Radical news... other than previous statements from Schafer dispelling the idea of a Psychonauts sequel, and the probability of the game still bringing in much money is pretty slim :/
psn plz
Well, time to buy it again, I suppose. Ah what the heck, I'll buy it on my both accounts! I really want a sequel!
You can also get it for $9.99 and DRM free on gog.com. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
This means nothing to me unless it spurs them to get to work on a sequel. It's great that they now get all the money from sales of the game, but I bought my copy years and years ago and I'm just waiting on the sequel.
