The lights are on
Sony looks like it might continue its region-free trend and make the PlayStation Vita able to games released in territories worldwide.
IGN reports that Michael Denny, Sony's vice president of worldwide studios Europe, said that to the best of his knowledge, the Vita would – like the PSP and PS3 before it – be region free.
Of course, it's not all clear sailing. The PlayStation 3 still restricts PSN sales to specific territories.

I never understood the point of regions. It just seems like it's designed to make you replace your game/movie collections if you ever want to move to Europe or Asia.
If anything is region locked, i can no longer buy the games as in my country we get mixed region games.
That's good. I love how my PS3 is region free. I've imported some JRPGs before.
they better no be region locked. that would be very dumb on sonys part. but they are not a dumb company so i think we are ok
This is fantastic news! This is really cool of Sony to continue doing.
Me likey. I loved my DS Lite for this reason so that I could play Ouendan but I've yet to play any other games from other regions. I could see how this would be handy for traveling though.
Well... I must give credit where credit is due... I'm all for region free systems and its a real shame the 3DS isn't even remotely region free...
Great news indeed. I love how I don't have to worry about regions when I buy my PS3 games, I'm always sure it'll work on my system.
Man this ho looks sweet!!!
Hmm
all i gotta say is " I CANT WAIT FOR THIS "
Well this is a cool idea, I am liking this PSV even more :)
Please show the games that are coming out for the PS Vita. The more you show the more people will get into it. =P
Still, lack of region-locking for the hard copies would be beneficial in judging the quality of Japan-first or Europe-first games before they get to America. Definitely has interest from me...
Heheheh, I can get games overseas now....
Good for Sony. The region lock sucks.
