The lights are on
We’ve all been wondering for a little over a month what Nintendo’s new console would be called. Speculation ranged from Project Café to simply Nintendo. We were way off; it turns out that Nintendo’s new system will be called Wii U.
Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime got onstage to talk about how much everyone (he meant Nintendo) loved the name of the Wii, and that Nintendo’s new system wouldn’t stray too much from that. This new system was a game for "we" meaning everyone, but also for "you" meaning each individual consumer. What do you think of then name Wii U?

I wish they had called it Wii wee. "Hey hon, wanna play with my Wii wee?" Yeah, I just crack myself up.
The graphics are great, but the controller looks like crap.
Whatever the haters say, once I saw what the Legend of Zelda looked like on this new console I was sold, and the games will only look better and the tablet... Did anyone else see the art studio it showed off? This new console is going to be the very definition of fun! Thank you Nintendo, for once again making us look at games in a new light. But fire your name guy, I don't think he's workin' out to well.

man, I still don't know what to do. I can get a ps3 now or maybe wait for this to come out and hope for the best. I'm leaning towards the ps3, but I don't want to be left in the dust if the ps4 comes out like 2 or 3 years from now.

It's ok sounding.. but is it just a controller or is there an HD console too?
i think they could of done better withe name, and the console itself. they should of just upgraded the thing with better graphics.

Nintendo never lets us down with very intersting controlers. But naming things just doesn't seem to sit on the same level for them. Wii U isn't clever at all... but alas nothing can be done now.
It sure as hell beats Vita, so it wins for least crappy name for a new system at E3 2011.
I think that Nintendo is having issues speaking Engrish. Enough with the goofy names, how about you make a real console for once. The 64 was your last worthy offering.
