The lights are on
In a major surprise at this year's E3, Microsoft announced that the cult indie hit Minecraft is coming exclusively to the Xbox 360.
Microsoft revealed little else besides the announcement that it's coming, showing only the Xbox sphere made out of Minecraft's iconic blocks. Microsoft also said that the game will utilize Kinect support: It wasn't clear if it will be exclusively playable with Kinect, or if you can use a standard controller as well.
It should be interesting to see how Minecraft plays on a console, including if and how the game will support multiplayer, or deal with Mojang's constant flood of updates. At any rate it's a huge announcement for Notch's independent company, and great news for Minecraft fans looking to play the game on their televisions. We'll bring you more on Minecraft later this week.
