LittleBigPlanet Coming To PlayStation Vita With Bonus Features

Today at Sony's press conference, the company announced that LittleBigPlanet is coming to PlayStation Vita, with new minigames and touch controls to boot.

Sony showed just a short trailer for the game, but it was enough to see some new levels that utilized Vita's touchscreen: The player swiped his finger across the screen to hit a hockey puck-like circle across a level, it was a simple demonstration, but touchscreen controls present a lot of gameplay possiblities. It is unclear if players will be able to incorporate touchscreen capabilities into their own levels, or if the functionality could be added later, similar to Sony's announcement that owners of the PS3 version can now make levels that use Move controls.

The touchscreen will also come in handy for creating your own levels: The player can swipe their finger across the screen to lay down platforms, or use the built-in camera to take and edit pictures to create stamps. Thanks to Vita's powerful processor, the handheld version will also feature all of the user-made levels from the PS3 version, as well as all the tools and costumes from LBP 2.
