Insomniac Games Unveils Overstrike

by Ben Reeves on Jun 06, 2011 at 10:32 AM

Ted Price, president and CEO of Insomniac Games, took the stage at EA’s press conference to show off Insomniacs new multiplatform title, Overstrike.

Overstrike is a zany new action shooter, which seems to be kind of a hybrid of the studios other works mixed with a bit of Dreamworks flair. Players take control of one of four agents belonging to an elite group called Overstrike Nine. Like most Insomniac titles, Overstrike will feature a mix of wild weapons, over the top action, and the art style was reminiscent of many recent GC films. We watch as the Overstrike Nine team used guns with shield attachments, invisibility cloaks, and electric crossbows. One weapon fired metallic looking goo that enveloped enemies and pinned them up against the walls.

Price didn’t confirm that the game would support co-op play, but given the four character nature of the team, four player co-op looks likely. EA will be publishing Overstrike on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
