The lights are on
THQ hinted at the sequel to Vigil Game’s breakout hit almost immediately after the success of the first title, but we knew little about Darksiders II until now.
Fans of the first Darksiders are already familiar with Vigil’s fiction – the eternal war that rages between the forces of Heaven and Hell. With Darksiders II, Vigil looks to deliver a richer experience as players explore more dungeons, talk with a variety of NPCs, and experiment with a detailed loot system. The horseman War has been sidelined, so it’s up to his brother, Death, to travel through the world of the Abyss and attempt to restore humanity after its destruction during the Apocalypse.
Subscribers should be receiving their issues after the first day of E3. After you finish reading our cover story, keep checking back with our Darksiders II hub throughout the month, since we'll have plenty of updates that delve deeper into the experience Vigil is crafting for Darksiders II.
In addition to our 10-page cover story on Darksiders II, the July issue of Game Informer includes an in-depth first look at Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIII-2, our hands-on impressions of Sony’s NGP hardware and its early games, and an extensive preview section featuring games like BioShock Infinite, Mass Effect 3, and Batman: Arkham City.
Until you get a copy for yourself, drool over these images of our cover, drawn by comic book luminary Joe Madureira, or watch the exclusive first trailer for Darksiders II.

Im not really interested in this game at all. . .
Still gotta play the first one...
Hell yes! I enjoyed Darksiders, though it could have been better, and that cliffhanger ending was awful, but in a good way, if that makes sense. I wonder though, will Death control much differently than War? Will his powers be much different?
Also... FFXIII-2! Finally some more information! I'm one of the people who actually loved 13, and I'm really looking forward to the other 13's, even if a lot of people seemed to hate anything new:)
so I'm guessing 5 games total? one as each and then another game with all of them?
Holy crap! I beat the first one yesterday and now I get this, out of nowhere. Pretty sick timing.
what a *** cover..keep up the good work GI..
wait..why is the word.."awe-some" censored in my comment?...
I'm not sure why, but this cover makes me think it's a PS2 game, maybe it's cause the hyperstylized character and art instead of the gritty/realistic look that permeates the market nowadays. Regardless, I like it, and I really enjoyed the 1st game, so can't wait for this one.
yes! another horseman! deos that now confirm that there will be a game for each horseman!!! :D woot!!!!!
That font makes me want to kill myself
Very cool. Love the cover.
Now, I must play through the original.
I AM EXCITE! :):):):):):)
YES! I loved the first game, though some of my friends did not, and I had forgotten all about the possibility of a new game, so this came as a nice surprise. I think Darksiders II is already on my must buy list
Bullocks. I wanted to play as Fury.
oh hell ya this is going to be a great game
I did not like the first one at all....I played the demo for about 20 minutes and just couldn't enjoy it. I'll play the demo to see but I'm not really excited for this one unless they've changed it significantly.
Sweet! I need to finish the first one though....
