The lights are on
THQ hinted at the sequel to Vigil Game’s breakout hit almost immediately after the success of the first title, but we knew little about Darksiders II until now.
Fans of the first Darksiders are already familiar with Vigil’s fiction – the eternal war that rages between the forces of Heaven and Hell. With Darksiders II, Vigil looks to deliver a richer experience as players explore more dungeons, talk with a variety of NPCs, and experiment with a detailed loot system. The horseman War has been sidelined, so it’s up to his brother, Death, to travel through the world of the Abyss and attempt to restore humanity after its destruction during the Apocalypse.
Subscribers should be receiving their issues after the first day of E3. After you finish reading our cover story, keep checking back with our Darksiders II hub throughout the month, since we'll have plenty of updates that delve deeper into the experience Vigil is crafting for Darksiders II.
In addition to our 10-page cover story on Darksiders II, the July issue of Game Informer includes an in-depth first look at Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIII-2, our hands-on impressions of Sony’s NGP hardware and its early games, and an extensive preview section featuring games like BioShock Infinite, Mass Effect 3, and Batman: Arkham City.
Until you get a copy for yourself, drool over these images of our cover, drawn by comic book luminary Joe Madureira, or watch the exclusive first trailer for Darksiders II.

Can someone tell me why GI covers always look so ***???
Darksiders 1 was ok. I never finished it. I wish it was more mature kinda. The art was great. I don't know about this. It does not seem as high calibur as the last few covers have been.
Since I know nothing of these games, this issue will probably be a bit boring :/
Thats a really really cool cover I love it and Darksiders was pretty good i had a fun time with it
I guess thats an alrite cover. I never played the first one but my friend tells me he digs it, so idk?
I've never played Darksiders but this looks gothically cool lol :P
Greatest GI cover EVER!!!
I like that font for the title for the magazine. Pretty awesome
hmmmmmmm.......maybe this game will get me into the Darksiders universe. the first demo didn't really entice me, and the story was apparently lackluster. fix that and I'm in.
OH MY GOD THIS COVER IS AMAZING!
i thought the first was kinda cool, never really got into it...just played the demo.
This one seems cool and i cannot wait to read the MASS EFFECT 3 PREVEIW!!!
Ugh this game was just a rip off of God of War, Portal, and The Legend of Zelda. You could definately tell when you played it
I feel like the first Darksiders was just working with the same mechanics that worked better with their original games, i.e. Zelda, Portal, etc. and this game felt like a mashup of those games. Hopefully this game brings something new and inventive to the series. And more Mark Hamill. He was the best part of the first game.
Awesome and it's the cover! Loved the first game, just wished it were longer. Kind of hoped the pale rider would be the fourth game, but hey, I'm not complaining!
That is a very cool cover. This will be exciting, can't wait to find out more about it
Wow i am beyond excited for this game the first one was pure mastery. The story was top notch and the ending just left you knowing that there would be more to come. Not playing as war is a little disheartening but Death looks pretty awesome himself so that should be just fine!!! Looking forward to the trailer tomorrow
i so cant wait for this :)
awesome! can't wait. and love joe mad's stuff. anyone know who the 2nd artist on the cover is? looks like there is another signature under mad's?
Awesome, loved the first one.
