The lights are on
THQ hinted at the sequel to Vigil Game’s breakout hit almost immediately after the success of the first title, but we knew little about Darksiders II until now.
Fans of the first Darksiders are already familiar with Vigil’s fiction – the eternal war that rages between the forces of Heaven and Hell. With Darksiders II, Vigil looks to deliver a richer experience as players explore more dungeons, talk with a variety of NPCs, and experiment with a detailed loot system. The horseman War has been sidelined, so it’s up to his brother, Death, to travel through the world of the Abyss and attempt to restore humanity after its destruction during the Apocalypse.
Subscribers should be receiving their issues after the first day of E3. After you finish reading our cover story, keep checking back with our Darksiders II hub throughout the month, since we'll have plenty of updates that delve deeper into the experience Vigil is crafting for Darksiders II.
In addition to our 10-page cover story on Darksiders II, the July issue of Game Informer includes an in-depth first look at Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIII-2, our hands-on impressions of Sony’s NGP hardware and its early games, and an extensive preview section featuring games like BioShock Infinite, Mass Effect 3, and Batman: Arkham City.
Until you get a copy for yourself, drool over these images of our cover, drawn by comic book luminary Joe Madureira, or watch the exclusive first trailer for Darksiders II.

Loved the first game, love the cover, looking forward to Bioshock Infinite, NGP, Mass Effect 3, and hopefully some more info on Twisted Metal and Uncharted. Please, give me more info on all these.
I don't want to be overly critical but this is definitely one of the weaker covers. That and Darksiders was so unoriginal that I couldn't get into it.
Totally awesome to see Darksiders 2 get the cover!!! The first one was one of my 3 favorite games for the next-gen consoles!!!
Might be the best G.I. cover of all time... I enjoyed the first, especially the last boss fight (spectacular), so I look forward to the second.
With the extra time given because of the delay, this should really turn out something special.
Definitely looking forward to that Bioshock Infinite news. FFXIII-2 I'm not too interested in but I'll still check it out. I'm not to interested in Darksiders but playing as Death is always cool so I'll look at it.
Loved the Game! Not So sure about this dude!
didn't care much for the first one, should've done a cover story on Uncharted 3
It just me or does he look like a slightly revised pallet swap of War?
What a wack game for a cover issue.. someone slipped GI some $$$... I havnt even gotten my June Issue, WTF Yo!
The cover is good looking but I didn't like the first game.
I never played Darksiders, but it always looked cool to me so maybe I can jump on board this one. Still, I don't tend to get my hopes up when it comes to THQ.
I love the cover! Great job guys!
Ill look at it. I never really bothered with the first one to be honest, but since this is a feature of gameinformer I'll read it.
it looks sick!!
this art looks sick. hopefully it wont be the trainwreck that darksiders 1 was. btw, whats that green smear on his chest.
Dont forget who holds the leash.
Gonna get me some darksiders II :)
Looks like a combination between the grim reaper and the incredible hulk
Yes!!! I always figured that there would be a Darksiders 2, but it's nice to get the confirmation anyhow. Also, Death kind of looks like Rick from Splatterhouse, only a little more awesome (not only is he wearing clothes, he packing some pointy heat! ...I'm referring to his wicked sickles, don't worry)
Awesome, I can't wait to play Death :)
