Report: Castlevania: Harmony Of Despair Headed To PS3

Last year's Castlevania: Harmony of Despair took the vampire-hunting franchise in a strange but enjoyable co-op-focused direction on Xbox Live Arcade. Now a new report suggests that it will be headed to PS3 as well.

Silicon Era reports from two undisclosed sources that a PlayStation Network version of Harmony of Despair will be available later this year. The sources provide no firm details on if this version will contain some of the DLC that was eventually released for the XBLA version or if PS3 players will have to shell out for extra maps as well.

Konami is set to reveal some big pre-E3 announcements later this week, so we may have confirmation on this port sooner rather than later.

  • ah xbox can never hold down an exclusive
  • Great! I played this througly on my Xbox 360, and I can tell you that PS3 gamers will be very happy. I reccommend playing co-op, as it is a bit boring playing by yourself.
  • This one was...the one where it was timed, and you had to run through it,right?I'm a little hazy on all the details of this one.
  • i like castlevania. the first time i played it was on a turbo graph system. Was my favorite game. Never thought i would see that game again. Way to cool.
  • i love castlevania series but co-op doesnt seem like a good fit especialy if u have to play with the whole map on screen like that
  • I thought it was on there already.

  • The game I would kill for on PSN right now would be Super Meat Boy, but that's not happening any time soon...
  • Rockin! You don't have enough Castlevania.

  • Awesome, its nice to see other system owners getting good games crossed

  • Cool, but I played the demo on XBLA and found it to be...meh. But I never judge a game off a demo alone, so I'm still willing to give it a chance. So...is this any good? Like how does it stack against other 2D Castlevania's? I'm not expecting Symphony of the Night here, but is it comparable?
  • Dang, it took this long for PS3 owners to get this?

  • Does anyone at MGS know how to make long term deals or how to buy gaming house or do they just buy stupid *** like Skype. so far todays news articles have been about games that were once exclusives are now going multi platform. will some stop buy *** & start buying first party gaming house or start creating some from within cause as right now you folks at MGS got nothing that will entice me to buy the next old tech shitbox.

  • So they test it first on xbox live to see if it works and if it work they bring it to psn. So xbox live is like thr test lab jejeje
  • I've never played this game.  Is it any good?

  • It's about time! Going to start saving up :)
  • I've never played a Castlevania game before but this is obviously good news to PS3 gamers :)

  • ahh so looks like i envy the 360 no more.been wanting this game since its release.have not been wanting to buy a 360 to play it.konami thank you..thank you.now how long til i CAN play it remains to be seen.

  • I love this game and still play it on my 360. Enjoy it. Just hope your network stays up long enough for you guys to play it.

  • I am not (that) ashamed to say that this game kicked my ass, in that when I played the demo it made little sense to me...

  • Meh... I don't want co-op, I want another story-driven single player Castlevania! Get on it, Konami!
