Madden NFL 12 Cover Revealed

In case you were still wondering who Peyton Hillis is after he won EA Sports Madden NFL 12 cover contest, now you can put the name to the face with the game's official box art.

A man, a jersey, and a football all collide for this stunning work of art that is punctuated by Hillis' own take-no-prisoners stare. What does determination look like? Here it is.

In case you were one of the people who didn't vote for Hillis in the cover contest, are a Marshall Faulk fan, or perhaps just want to own a limited-edition version of Madden NFL 12 for $90, there is also the Hall of Fame Edition with a gold-embossed version of Faulk that includes (from EA Sports' own press release, hence the hyperbole):

  • Full version of Madden NFL 12 video game
  • Autographed Panini Card (see below) – Madden NFL and Panini, the world leader in published collectables, have teamed up to create the ultimate Madden NFL trading card featuring 2011 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee, Marshall Faulk.  Each copy of the Hall of Fame Edition will include one of four exclusive Marshall Faulk trading cards, each hand-signed by Faulk. One solid, 18k gold autographed card will be randomly inserted into one Xbox 360 and one PlayStation 3 copy of the Hall of Fame Edition. The lucky recipients of these two cards will have one of the most valuable cards in Panini history.
  • Exclusive Madden Ultimate Team Platinum Pack –The perfect combination of Madden NFL, fantasy football, and trading cards comes to life in Madden NFL Ultimate Team.  The Hall of Fame Edition provides a Madden Ultimate Team experience like never before with the most prestigious Platinum Pack yet, featuring a combination of 13 NFL Hall of Famers and former Madden NFL cover athletes, including: Marshall Faulk, Barry Sanders, Jerry Rice, Rod Woodson, Eddie George, Michael Vick, Donovan McNabb, Ray Lewis, Shaun Alexander, Vince Young, Larry Fitzgerald, Troy Polamalu and Drew Brees.  All cards feature ratings from each player’s most productive season in the NFL and are fully renewable with contract extensions, which is sure to make them some of the most sought after cards in Ultimate Team history.

  • that's ok, his career was already crap. The Madden curse should have no affect on him.
  • Faulk was a lot better. That's probably why they saved him for the CE.

  • just get maddem 09 ... it's $5 and almost the same thing

  • What would really cement in the Madden Curse is if Faulk has a throat injury and isn't able to announce or do commentary any more.

  • Way to sap out Hillis' thunder by releasing a different version of the game with someone different on the cover in the same year. EA must really be scared that people won't buy the game when they see the white running back that plays for the Browns on the cover. Do people really pay $60 a year for a roster upgrade?
  • I can't wait to buy this game and score a goal unit with my favorite local sports team!
  • Hey EA thanks but I already have a copy of Madden with Marshall Faulk on the cover and it looks better than that. Oh and it plays about the same too.
  • meh

  • Wow.  TOTALLY NOT worth the $90 price tag for that stuff.  However, I am excited to get the regular version.  I didn't buy Madden last year.  Getting it this year though.

NCAA Football will likely STILL own as the best Football on consoles.

  • Also, look at the autographs... They are the exact same. I never met anyone who could write their name 4 times and have it come out a perfect clone every time.
  • awsome cover

  • People will buy this?

  • I can see the buildings under Hillis' left armpit from my house in Cleveland... and that's about what it smells like there.
  • still not going to get this

  • Why doesn't the PS3 version get the same treatment the 360 has? Not to sound like a fanboy because I have all three consoles, but still. Also Madden 10's cover IMO still looks better. I'll just stick with that game anyway. No need to get a new one where little has changed.
  • Both Covers are sick...Don't worry people the limited edition one costs more, Capitalism says that the one with Peyton on the front will sell more. Plus, you guys don't have to worry about the Madden Curse thanks to O$U and the "Sweater" resigning. It can't get much worse than that...

  • i never heard of this guy imma just draw a picture of a stick figure and stick it in the cover of the game.

  • Madden NFL 12 lockout edition.
  • Mod

Those cards look cool but I'll just stick with the regular edition. I like the cover though.
