Hothead And The Hitchhiker's Guide Join Forces

Hothead Games, the developer behind The Swarm and DeathSpank, has announced that it will be tackling the legendary Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy property.

A post on Hothead's blog announces the project, but exactly what form the project will take is a mystery. Is it a game or some other kind of interactive venture? Hothead's previous projects range from turn-based RPGs to action-platformers, so it is difficult to predict how the studio's take on Douglas Adams' irreverent sci-fi classic will take shape.

Don't panic! We're sure to know the details soon enough.

  • Best books ever made. Can't wait to see how funny these are.

  • can't wait to see it.

  • I can't wait to see the effects of the pan galactic gargablast. So playing this with a towel by my side. That last part didn't come out the way I thought it would.
  • Can't hate on a book series that begins with: "In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
  • 42.
  • Will the collector's edition come with a towel? Because realistically, every copy should come with a towel.
  • As long as it's not text based.
  • Either the effects of my Pan Galatic Gargablast are kicking in or this is a dream come true. Either way, I'll need a towel once this is over with.
  • Everything about this makes me giddy. Even if it is a game, and even if that game sucks, anything that brings back memories of this series is more than welcome.

I don't have any towel jokes. Sorry.

  • For anyone reading this article; you have to read these books in the same way that you have to read A Game of Thrones.
  • This article actually makes me so happy I'll probably just post a ridiculous amount of comments on it for the next two hours.

  • Anyone that absolutely loves these books has to read Terry Pratchett, he is just as good at writing this type of hilarious satire, if not better.
  • Yes Yes YES!!! I love PAA and THGttG! This is going to be great.

  • Best day ever. Joe, you are now my hero. Maybe even the hoopiest frood I've ever seen. And by the way: I GOT THE BABEL FISH.
