GameFly Makes Direct2Drive Purchase From IGN Official
We caught wind of this major purchase last week and now GameFly is officially announcing its purchase of PC game download service Direct2Drive.
Last week, British gaming site MCV cited several sources on the leaked news and it also predicted an announcement this week. That has now come to fruition along with a few more details. Along with the purchase, IGN will take a minority stake in GameFly, but will "play no direct role in GameFly's operations or governance."
The purchase price was not disclosed.
