Spec Ops: The Line Gets Delayed

by Joe Juba on May 24, 2011 at 12:56 PM

Take-Two recently unveiled the results of its 2011 fiscal year. Among all of the percentages and registered trademarks was some good news and some not-so-good news. On the good side of things, key Rockstar talent is sticking around. On the other hand, Spec: Ops: The Line is getting pushed way back.

According to Take-Two's calendar of upcoming releases (BioShock Infinite is still on track for 2012, by the way), the upcoming Spec Ops title has been delayed to the first half of fiscal year 2013. That means that it will  release somewhere between April and September of calendar year 2012.

In other words, Spec Ops: The Line is still at least a year away. While delays are nothing new, remember that the game had beta testing going on last fall (which stopped in November). It's possible that feedback from that experience was not to Take-Two's liking. We could be in for a major retooling the next time Spec Ops surfaces.
