Age of Conan Goes to Hollywood

by Matthew Kato on May 24, 2011 at 04:13 AM

Age of Conan MMO developer Funcom says that it's releasing new content for the game that will tie-in with the upcoming Conan the Barbarian film reboot.

The Savage Coast of Turan adventure pack casts the player as Conan as he tries to help his friend Artus in the city of Ardashir in events set 20 years after the movie. The content pack, apart from the city itself, also contains dungeons, monsters, raids, weapons, and more.

"We have worked closely with the Funcom creative team since 2003," says Conan the Barbarian Producer and Paradox CEO Fredrik Malmberg, "and carefully crafted a unique look and feel for Conan's world. Many of the concepts, locations, and designs from the game development were utilized by the film team for consistency, and we are thrilled that many elements of the film will feel familiar to the Age of Conan players."

The movie comes out August 19.
