L.A. Noire Becomes Fastest-Selling New IP In U.K. History

It looks like Rockstar has another blockbuster on its hands with L.A. Noire, which posted impressive first-week sales numbers in the U.K.

The U.K. sales site Chart-Track reports that the game will debut atop the U.K. charts, beating out LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean and Brink. L.A. Noire is now the fastest selling new video game IP in U.K. history, with sales, according to Chart-Track "on a par with the launch of Rockstar’s previous chart topper Red Dead Redemption which was released exactly a year ago."

We'll have to wait to see how the game did in the U.S., but we suspect it's going to post a strong showing on this side of the pond as well.

    well im not surprised i wonder console has the most sales for the game probely xbox because of the psn shutdown and the tradeins if only they had patience is the key but i would like to have their accent

    Poor Team Bondi, you never hear them mentioned. It's always Rockstar's LA Noir.

    Almost all of my gamer friends have L.A. Noire. I haven't had this many people around me talking about the same game at once since Modern Warfare 2 came out. I think this game did very, very well.

    Awesome, I was really hoping this game would do great and allow the big developers to take chances and do something different every once in awhile.  Barely scratching the surface on this game and I'm loving it, great job Rockstar and Team Bondi!

    My favorite aspect of this game is the Mass-Effect-like interviews and multiple endings. I would love to see more games do stuff like this. Also, this proves that games involving gun play do not require sky-high body counts to be fun.

    Congrats to Rockstar and Team Bondi on another hit.

    L.A. Noire 2 can hopefully adress the issues of L.A. Noire, namely the disconnected cases, bland action sequences, and largely linear nature of the game.  Maybe tackling side missions appropriate for the level of the game (taking down mob bosses, foiling bank robberies etc).
