Report: New Alan Wake Game Coming

Alan Wake has new adventures ahead of him, but they won't be found on a disc.

That's the word coming from XBLA Fans, as the site reports that a new game called Alan Wake: Night Springs is being developed by Remedy for a release on Xbox Live Arcade. The report comes from "an extremely trusted source" of the poster. The site claims to have seen screenshots from the game, but did not share the screens in the initial posting.

No details were offered regarding the gameplay of the title.

If the report of a new Alan Wake game is true, it's pretty exciting news. Many fans of the original game had all but given up hope of a new installment in the series. As games like Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and Dead Rising: Case Zero have proven, the downloadable space can be a excellent home for big characters and franchises.

Meh. I didn't understand Alan Wake's storyline. The gameplay was innovative and fun, but the story made absoulutely no sense... Kind of like Inception.

Nice, they are going to make a game out of the game that is seen in the original game. I loved the Night Springs videos in Alan Wake, so if the game revolves around interesting stories and ideas like those, this could be awesome.

I would be excited for this, but my Xbox died, and the warranty's up and I don't have enough money to get a new one. I was really hoping the new game woud be a multiplatform spin-off so I could get it for PS3, cause I really loved the first one. "Sigh" I guess PS3 Alan Wake shall have to remain a dream.

That's cool! I do hope that they will finally use the facial capture technology for this game to compete with LA Noir, as was earlier reported for an Alan Wake sequel.
