The lights are on
It's clear that the guys at Traveller's Tales don't get to take vacations. In just the past few months, the studio has released LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars and LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean, but it seems that they've also been hard at work on yet another LEGO title: LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7. Whew.
The game, due out for a holiday 2011 release, is based on the last three books in the Harry Potter series (or final four movies, if you're one of those film buffs). Warner promises that players will be able to visit familiar places such as Diagon Alley and Hogwarts, as well as locations that are new to the LEGO series such as Grimmauld Place, the Ministry of Magic, and Godric's Hollow.
“In LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7, we are giving gamers a truly epic conclusion to the most successful movie franchise in history with delightful gameplay for fans of all ages,” said Tom Stone, managing director at TT Games. “We have built upon the first game and are giving fans even more magical abilities, puzzle solving, and exploration, in addition to our distinctive brand of hilarious LEGO humor and charm.”
Speaking personally, I have little doubt that the latest game in the LEGO franchise will continue to deliver whimsy and humor. I only hope that this game pushes the boundaries of the LEGO formula a bit more than LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean did. The series has always been on the formulaic side, and it's struggled to evolve over the years. If this one merely offers more of the same I'd forgive anyone who taps out, citing general fatigue.

Eww
Lego Star Wars 3 is the best lego game and it's going to stay like that.
I'm a huge fan of the Lego games. It's one of the few good titles that my son and I can enjoy together.
awww its adorable because lego voldemort is gonna try and kill every living thing in that castle
Great news. I love the LEGO games but I never did get the first Harry Potter game. Looks like I have a good reason now. I just need to finish LEGO Pirates and L.A. Noire before I'll be able to play it, though. :P
I always enjoyed the Lego games but I could never really get into them until Lego Harry Potter came out. I mostly credit it to my love of the Harry Potter books more than anything though. I will be getting this and I will be getting a Platinum in it as well.
Can't wait.
YES I cant wait!!!!!!!
I'm always surprised by how much I liked the first LEGO HP game, because the concept was always kind of strange to me. The LEGO games are actually really fun.
cant wait. the first one was kind of boring, but this one sounds cool.
im tired of the lego games either change the formula or stop making them
I'm gonna get this for the simple fact that its perfect to play with the kids. Formulaic, definitely, but still, their fun.
?.
Really excited for this. The first Lego HP was great because of the environments that were perfect for fans. I hope this one has something original, like how Clone Wars added an RTS element.
LEGO is always good, there's no dening that.
But when the formula isn't preferably suitable for a type of LEGO universe that is being portrayed, you can see no difference.
i didn't see this before, nice! :D
