The lights are on
Some developers see DLC as an opportunity to make some extra cash off their games. Not CD Projekt. Today the developer announced that any and all DLC for The Witcher 2 will be available to players free of charge.
Word of the decision came from a developer Q&A with CD Projekt hosted on Gamestop's Facebook page. "Let me announce that all our DLCs will be FREE. All of them. If anything will be for purchase, those will be expansion packs." The developer went on to say that pre-order exclusives aren't part of the deal.
The first free DLC pack is entitled Troll Trouble, and will be available when the game launches tomorrow.

Doing this actually makes people want to buy the game oppose to buying DLC.
Copy came in early today...Got to say it has a great amount of content for the hours I've played.
Sweet. Sounds way more fair that way. I don't mind dropping dime on expansion packs, but DLC isn't guaranteed to be that much content.
Aaaah, gotta love the noble PC based developers out there :)
Cool, now please get a console version out :D
CD Projekt really cares more about making games than making money. People pay $15 for a few multiplayer maps off Activision or $10 for DLC that should be on the disk from EA, so this comes as a pleasant surprise.
Wow, this is quite generous of them to do.
That makes me even more excited for the game!! XD
Not a big deal, unless it has a bunch of DLCs. I would care more if it said "All Mass Effect 2 DLC To Be Free", because all its DLCs combined price is well over $30. Nonetheless, really great of them to do so. Although, now I expect low quality DLC.
I want this game even more now.
sweet i pre-ordered my digital copy already on gog.com n just waiting for my download on it to start back up 1 piece left this makes me happier with my purchase hate paying for dlc
Loved the first one and the books so far. I have to say id rather have it on the ps3 or 360 though. The graphic inconsistency (due to my comp) and lack of controller support were the only things I faulted with the first game.
Awesome! So I REALLY buy a FULL game, if I pay fullprice. Nice!
I can't wait!
Bioware/EA and Activision could learn from something from them.
I can't wait for this to be released on consoles, I'm keeping my fingers crossed because I really want to play this game!
