i don't know why people hate the movies so much. I kinda like them. They are not the best movies out there but it still entertains me.

It stopped being even remotely good at afterlife. They just need to stop now.

They're mindless fun, I don't really think of them as RE Movies. Maybe in an alternate dimension.

Retribution? How fitting. It's precisely what this franchise needs -- movies or games.

They should have to call all these Resident Evil: The Movie  1,2 and so on, to distance them as far as possible from the games, which they do absolutely no justice to. Just like the recent games they focus on action to the detriment of scariness and horror.

i didnt mind the 1st one and 2nd one but it just went bad from there. I was so mad by how they took the exact fight scene from RE5 into the 4th film. Every move was exactly the same!! And the black guy coming out of the drain pipe at the end of the film!! im getting mad just thinking about all of this...

Terrible but +fun+!

No one goes to see a Resi film expecting plot, or depth, we go for explosions and shower scenes! WOO!

this franchise sucks. i would rather be forced to watch the street fighter movie and mortal kombat Annihilation then another on of these movies.

LOL. Afterlife was THEE worst movie I've seen in 2011.

Oy vey...is there even a story anymore? Or is it just a montage of slow motion action sequences separated by garbaldy-gook dialogue...*grunts and sighs* it never ends...

I'm surprised they still make these.  

If they are really going to come out with yet another RE movie, they either need to do a reboot, or give Alice some freaking character depth. You could literally sum up every RE movie after the first as thus: Alice does some cool martial arts/gun stuff, meets some nice people (one or more of whom are characters from the games but are still overshadowed by Alice's awesomeness), finds the main bad guy, kicks their ass, and escapes. This wouldn't be so bad except for the fact that Alice has become so predictable. Despite the various creatures and baddies she fights, she's never in any real danger, and every time they try to give her a love interest, it just feels fake and shallow. What I think would be cool is if they made this next movie sort of her origin story. Show how she became such an elite fighter within the ranks of Umbrella, maybe have cameos from some of the video game characters. It could also delve further into the development of the T-virus and how Umbrella became such a large and powerful corporation. Maybe it could even show the events of RE1 (with Wesker, Jill, Chris, and the others in the mansion) on the side and it could end with RE1's ending and Alice collapsing in the shower (thus segwaying into the first movie).

I'm sure I will be seeing this one too, I actually like these movies Afterlife being my favorite so far. You have to just take them for what they are, mindless popcorn flicks and not a faithful recreation of the games. Sort of an alternate universe thing.

I personally thought it was going to be called Resurrection.  That would fit better with the other subtitles.  Should be another fun B-movie, can't wait

it's going to suck if its anything like Afterlife...the first three were pretty good, I don't know what happened with the fourth!?!?! The CG film that followed Extinction was better than the AL atrocity!
