Heroes Of Newerth Celebrates First Birthday With Giveaway
Heroes of Newerth is marking its first anniversary with several enhancements and updates. And if you haven't yet checked out the multiplayer-based PC RPG, developer S2 Games is starting an 11-day free-to-play session today.
“The HoN community has been instrumental in the success of the game, helping us to make tremendous strides since last year’s launch,” said S2 Games CEO and co-founder Marc DeForest. “In just the last month, our players enjoyed over 650 million minutes of HoN! We have an average of 30,000 people playing at any given time and daily concurrent peaks of over 50,000 players. We’re looking forward to increasing these numbers by continuing to add game updates and reward systems like the HoNiversary F2P session that keep existing players engaged, and encourage new players to join.”
A patch for the game is going live tonight, which is designed to streamline the game's store and interface to attract those new players. It adds tooltips designed to clarify what various items do, as well as speeding up the amount of time that it takes to purchase items from the store. In addition, avatars Winston Charmadon and Thor Thunderbringer have been added.
Once the 11-day free-to-play session is over, players will have to fork over $30 to download the game and create an account. That is, unless you grab one of the codes below (first come, first served):

2. Create an account and set up a nickname.
3. On the second page it will ask for payment information, but there is a spot to enter a code so use one of the below codes.
