While they're still giving no specific date, Sony still wants you to know that they're working hard to solve the PSN catastrophe. Addressing the service restoration, Senior Director of Corporate Communications Patrick Seybold posted the following:

I know you all want to know exactly when the services will be restored. At this time, I can’t give you an exact date, as it will likely be at least a few more days. We’re terribly sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work through this process.

Here's hoping "a few more days" doesn't turn into "a couple more weeks."

Mine as well stop reporting on when PSN will be back up until Sony releases a confirmed date for it. It's all guessing right now as to when it'll happen.

Take your time Sony. I'm good for now. Don't need online until October for Twisted Metal. Do not want anything to go wrong then since i will be playing the *** out of that game online.

The only thing i will miss right now will be pre order dlc content. And Castlevania's final DLC for Lords of Shadow whenever that gets released. And maybe Outland too.

I hope they fix it, not just try to bodge it. My credit card details could have been stolen and if sony cant 100% guarantee their safety from now on they should say don't use psn.

What are the chances that they're right? Not high.
I don't want to hear them talk about it going back online until they have a hard date pegged. I just want to play online and sync my trophies; the other stuff I can wait for.

What Seybold would need to do is to post the progress log on this entire ordeal. Oh, but then the hax would know what was being done.

Well, looks to me like Sony's damned if they do, damned if they don't.
