New York Attorney General Subpoenas Sony On PSN Scandal
Sony continues to come under the microscope of government for its handling of the PSN/Sony Online security breach. Yesterday we reported that Sony Computer Entertainment chairman Kaz Hirai submitted -- in lieu of attending -- an eight-page document to the Congressional subcommittee on Manufacturing, Commerce, and Trade on the incident.
Today, it appears that the State of New York has questions for Sony. Bloomberg reports that New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has issued a subpoena for Sony over the PSN and SOE hacking scandal. The probe reportedly seeks information on the security breaches and "representations made to customers."
Sony's Patrick Seybold said, “We will review and respond to this request and will continue to work with law enforcement authorities as they investigate the criminal attack on our networks.”
The matter is also being investigated by the San Diego office of the Federal Bureau of Investigations. Sony itself has hired three private security firms to aid in the investigation
