L.A. Noire Spans Three Discs On Xbox 360

Rockstar has confirmed that its upcoming detective story will require three discs on 360. How does this impact your gaming experience? Not much, really.

L.A. Noire has a ton of voice acting and facial capture, not to mention the fact that it's a Rockstar game, which are traditionally not short affairs. The fact that it requires multiple discs isn't a huge surprise. To be clear, it will fit onto a single Blu-ray disc for PS3 owners.

Ultimately, all this means is that LA Noire is a big game; don't bother trotting this out as ammunition for the console wars...unless getting up to change discs twice during your playthrough is a huge dealbreaker for you.

Meh, I'll still probably get it on my 360. I'd rather do two 5-second disc swaps than have to go through the 10-15 minute mandatory install process on my PS3.

PS3 has the better format. for games at least, because of the huge amount of space on a Blu-Ray disc. (25gigs per side!)

Curses, how dare Rockstar require me to exercise!!!! Class-action lawsuit time. On a real note, this game must be long, Dead Space was only 2.

I hope it comes in a decent case. I remember hearing about some RPG (Lost Odyssey?) and one of the discs just came in a paper case.... hopefully it just comes in a standard case where the middle flappy part can hold two discs.

That would be annoying. Not really a big deal, just annoying. I remember the first time I had a game with multiple disk. It was Metal Gear Solid on PSone. I was real tired when I got to the part of the game when you change disk. What do you do when you change games in a PSone? You hit the reset button. What did I do when I put in MSG disk 2? I hit the reset button. This mistake was made worse by the fact that I didn't save very often back then.

I love how easy big games like Mass Effect 2 make it to swap out discs. It only takes a second and never even back to the dashboard. Just keep on rolling through as if nothing ever happened.
