Microsoft Vancouver Working On Kinect Shooter

by Matthew Kato on May 03, 2011 at 03:40 AM

Last year Microsoft opened up a games studio in Vancouver, British Columbia. According to a resume for one of the studio's art directors, MGS Vancouver will be working on a "core AAA shooter" for the peripheral.

A member of the NeoGAF forums uncovered a resume from MGS Vancouver art director Shawn Woods (who refers to the studio as Zipline Studios), who says that the developer was originally going to create "social microtransaction games," but has since refocused on a title that's a "core AAA shooter experience using Kinect."

The company's website is currently hiring for different positions, but no specifics regarding this Kinect shooter are mentioned.

It's unknown if MGS Vancouver's shooter is a new IP or a Kinect interpretation of an existing Microsoft franchise, but either way the peripheral is in desperate need of a hardcore game.
