Nintendo To Reach Outward For Marketing Help

by Matt Miller on Apr 26, 2011 at 11:07 AM

Acknowledging recent profit drop-offs for the company, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has suggested that future consoles will employ a broader outreach approach.

"I now regret that we didn't tie up with someone outside the company to market the Wii. If we had done that, the fate of the Wii might have been different," Satoru iwata told investors on Tuesday.

Moving forward, Iwata says that we'll see a shift in approach with current and future systems -- particularly noting both the 3DS and the Wii as systems that will be marketed in new ways. It's unclear whether Iwata was referencing continued marketing of the current Wii, or if he was referring to the future iteration of Nintendo's home console.
