Linked Steam Accounts Not Affected By PSN Security Breach
While Sony's insane PlayStation Network security breach is bad enough in and of itself, some gamers who play on both PS3 and PC have had even greater concerns. Portal 2 launched last week just before the PSN outage and allowed PS3 owners to link their PSN and Steam accounts, and it was unclear if the info that was accessed on PSN included information from Steam accounts. Valve has now spoken out on the subject.
Giant Bomb contacted Valve about the PSN breach and received the following simple statement:
"Steam has nothing to do with the PSN outage."
So if you have a PSN account that you've linked to your Steam account via Portal 2, at least there's one less thing you have to worry about. Everything else? Well, stay tuned.
