Portal 2 iPad App Takes Users Behind Closed Doors

by Ben Reeves on Apr 21, 2011 at 12:05 PM

The app is called The Final Hours of Portal 2, but don’t worry, it's not an app that spoils the ending of Portal 2. Instead it gives users a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of this spring’s blockbuster.

Journalist and GameTrailersTV host Geoff Keighley has spent the last three years working on this unique app which blends blending interactivity, storytelling, and multimedia to take readers inside the offices of Valve as the studio worked furiously to finish the development of Portal 2. It sounds interesting to us. Check out the app for yourself here.

But if you don’t want to take our word for it, Keighley had this to say, “Valve is one of the most important game developers in the world, and iPad is the perfect platform to bring the amazing story of Portal 2’s development to life in a new, innovative way.”

Of course, Keighley also had this to say, “When I open a video game magazine or go to many of the top websites, I am often amazed at the lack of good journalism about games.”

Sorry we dropped the ball, guys. But don’t worry: If Valve makes a Portal 3, we won't ignore it.
