WB About To Announce New Batman Game?

Warner Bros. has bought up five Internet domain names that could point to a new Batman game in the works. This could be part of the upcoming Arkham City launch, but that seems unlikely.

Superannuation found these five domains newly owned by Warner Bros.:

batmanhush.com
batmanhushgame.com
batmanredhoods.com
batmanimpostors.com
batmanknightfell.com

Each has a potential tie-in to a piece of Batman history. Batman Hush is a 2002-2003 comic story that has Batman stalked by an unknown figure, called Hush, who is striking at Batman's life from the shadows.

Red Hoods probably has to do with the recent Under the Red Hood animated film (available on Netflix Instant), which has current Robin Jason Todd dying in a nefarious combo scheme from Joker and Ras al'Ghul...or does he? Red Hoods could also be a reference to the 1950s Joker origin story, in which the man who would become Joker is a crime lord by the name Red Hood before his transformation.

Impostors [sic] is a Detective Comics storyline from last year, in which a minor villain originated from the '80s called Nemesis gets his very own miniseries.

Knightfell probably has something to do with Batman: Knightfall, a major storyline from the mid-'90s in which Bruce Wayne temporarily resigns his commission as Batman to another guy due to injury, Batman rethinks his enforced solitude, and Alfred resigns.

Could this be the new form of the previous rumor about an upcoming Batman XBLA game? Furthermore, how much credit does Batman: Arkham Asylum developer Rocksteady deserve for making me look forward to a new Batman game rather than dread it?

If Rocksteady was making a third game, I'd accept Red Hood as the best choice. Since we've been to the Asylum, Knightfall wouldn't be the storyline to go to. Hush is an interesting villain; he was a childhood friend of Bruce Wayne, until he changed for the worse. Impostors has me lost; I've never came across this comic.

My first thought was that it could be a game based off the upcoming movie The Dark Knight Rises, but none of those names relate to Bane, Alberto Falcone or young Ra's Al Ghul.

How does that work when you pay for a website? Do you pay for a set number of years, did they purposefully decide for it to expire in 2013 or is that date irrelevant?

Ok I'm gonna suggest another route for these domain mains. For all those hardcore Dark Knight (film) fans out there like me, we all remember the huge push the film had online. There were tons of fake sites put up and if you checked them out then you knew all the answers to the plot holes in the film (like where joker got all of his resources, where he rounded up all those inmates, how the batman imposters at the beginning of the movie got together, who exactly that guy was that joker killed and then swung into the mayors office, etc.). What I'm suggesting here is that MAYBE these domain names are setting up another online push for The Dark Knight Rises. TL;DR?

It'd be awesome if they release a Batman title centered around Hush. I could see this being an XBLA/PSN game. The new Batman: Arkham series is focused on The Joker... so yeah...

Anyone else think it might be a movie game tie in? Least we forget that Christopher Nolan IS making a third film. And as such, I really hope it isn't some lame down loadable game. An open world epic Batman game is something the gaming world needs to experience. If it is down loadable I hope it's still rather big budget and not just a simple brawler. A nice episodic Batman puzzle/action game would be the ***.

Well if this is a new Batman game I hope it's a full on retail release and not some gay download game they always suck but yea I'm def excited for some more Batman.ps this is also the way we discovered the name for Batman Arkham City remember GI discovered that WB had bought up some internet domains prior to the announcement of Arkham city one of them being BatmanArkhamCity.com

I've always thought that they should make a Batman game that is like a mix between Arkham and Crackdown. I think that would be so sick. Instead of the keep on Crackdown It would be the batcave but instead of superpowers like in crackdown you have everything that Batman has and you drive the Batmobile around and can get out and explore the world of Gotham and go around and beat criminals to a pulp with your bare hands and lvl up the batsuit gadgets batmobile stuff like that. I think that would be so cool

imagine being batman broken and then being able to be the azrael batman KILLING would be thugs,breaking the jokers arms,cutting all ties with commissioner gordan,then going back to being bruce wayne again to over throw the power trippin knightfall batman.all the while seeing this from two point of views,sounds like a winner to me.too bat its jus me that feels that way.i'd have to say though knightfall batman was a bad mo'fo.
