Dragon Age II Patch Fixes Some Serious Problems

If you've been playing Dragon Age II, you've probably noticed that it isn't perfect. BioWare is trying to make things right on the technical side, releasing a new patch for PC users addressing some major issues.

Though console players still need to contend with their problems for a while, playing the game on PC just got a little bit more pleasant. Version 1.02 includes fixes for quests that could previously not be completed, characters talking about key plot points before they've happened, and abilities not functioning as described.

I won't post all of the fixes, since some of them involve minor spoilers. However, if you want to see the full list, you can check it out at BioWare's site.

  • That doesn't make the game better I mean it's repetitive. When I played I kept pressing the same button pretty much. The pc version is better. The console version is terrible.
  • Thank you Merrill and your disappearing mirror for leaking the end of your character specific quest. And thank you random person, for letting letting me run into and stand in your body, but on your hips. >.> This shouldn't have taken so long. A good number of quests were broken, as were the achievements for the DLC.
  • I hope they hurry and fix the console versions too!! WTF

  • i swear to god if bioware rushes out mass effect 3 like dragon age 2 just to get it out, i will come up there and devolop the game myself.
i hope bioware learned their lesson from dragon age 2, that rushed piece of crap.
  • How is the PC version different in terms of combat? I haven't heard anything about it.
  • When they update the console version, hopefully they add a "Slap the *** out of teammate speaking" button. Would have come in handy for Merrill and Fenris. This is the first Bioware game I've played where the available teammates were almost completely infuriating. You know what scratch the idea for that button. It should be a "stab this mother *** in the throat" button, because I truly wanted to kill off half my party.
  • Now to wait for the console patches...

  • Despite the bugs, Dragon Age II was/is a great game! Can't wait for the patch to come out for the console!
  • my buddy who works down the street today tried to sell me his used copy of Dragon Age 2 and Uncharted for 60 bucks. guy must've been HIGH.
  • The fact that they haven't said word one about a console patch is insulting.  Bioware has really been taking a dive of late.

  • Doesn't appear they have resolved the previously GI posted infinite money/experience glitch, concerning fetch quests... :/
  • Any news on a console patch date?
  • Still no mention of the Isabelle Friendly glitch...

  • well.. to those that bought this waste of time.. sorry bioware.. you failed.. and haha.. shame on you... im laughing glad i didnt buy this game.. the cutout flyer from mass effect 2(ps3) almost tempted me.. thankfully i have the power of the force.. again.. dont ruin Mass Effect 3 & Star Wars bioware.. im counting on you.. /blame EA for this one :)
  • It at least covers the issues I've encountered. Namely Aveline's final upgrade and the Act 3 quest Who Needs Rescuing. As for the issue with the time it took, I can't complain because everyone of the mods I use still work completely! Thanks for that, Bioware. :)

  • Actually, if you go to the forums on their site, the consoles patch is supposed to be released next week at the latest. So console gamers won't have to wait too much longer.

  • This is all well and good for PC players but, wheres the console patch? Its been over a month since the games release and they have yet to release anything in the way of patches for consoles.

  • Will people STOP COMPLAINING about the time it takes to create patches. It should take a while for them to go through and rewrite all of the code needed for the patch. And for those of you who say "well, if their QC department did their jobs, they wouldn't need the patch. etc." the first rule of game testing is if you can't duplicate a glitch, it doesn't exist. Grow the hell up, you whinny, pathetic, idiots.
  • It's a shame they can't make a patch to fix the disappointment.
