345 Games To Develop Games Based On Comedy Central And Spike TV Properties
MTV Networks may have shuttered its MTV Games division and sold off Harmonix in the last year, but it's not giving up on video games. Today the company announced a new video game label called 345 Games. The unit will be making games based on properties owned by MTV Networks Entertainment Group and its parent company Viacom.
The first games scheduled for release will be based on Comedy Central's Ugly Americans animated show and Spike TV's Deadliest Warrior. The games, Deadliest Warrior: Legends and Ugly Americans: Apocalypsegeddon, will be released in mid-July and August, respectively.
Deadliest Warrior: Legends will build on the foundation of the already released Deadliest Warrior: The Game (available now on XBLA and PSN) and feature a bevy of the most storied warriors in history as well as new weapons, arenas, and campaign modes. It will sell for $10 on XBLA and PSN.
Ugly Americans: Apocalypsegeddon is a side-scrolling shooter in which players help stave off the end of the world by, you guessed it, shooting lots of stuff. As its a Comedy Central property, the real hook here will likely be the humorous script penned by the show's writers and voiceovers done by the show's actual voice actors. It will also retail for $10 on XBLA and PSN.
