by Matt Miller on Apr 05, 2011 at 11:30 AM

The newest book picks up threads and characters from previous novels to weave new stories into the Mass Effect lore.

Mass Effect: Deception follows the story of Gillian Grayson. According to the press release for the novel, the story follows the powerful biotic girl in the time after her harsh imprisonment and dangerous experimentation at the hands of the Cerberus organization. She has now escaped, and is learning to control her tremendous powers, but begins to work with a dangerous radical group where she faces some dangerous choices. Deception will release sometime this fall.

The new novel is being penned by William C. Dietz, a veteran sci-fi author who has had his hand in any number of different sci-fi universes over the years, including Star Wars, Starcraft, Resistance, and Halo.

It will be interesting to see how the events of this new book affect the game chronology of Mass Effect. Do you think Gillian Grayson might be a new character in Mass Effect 3?
