The lights are on
[UPDATE]: GI reader revistinha1 managed to dig up a link to the original Deviantart post of the clever mockup, which we missed during our search of the social network site yesterday.
Deviantart user boup0quod is the talented artist responsible for the image, which is just one of many professional-looking posters he has done for movies and video games.
Thanks again to revisitinha1 for the tip!
[ORIGINAL STORY]: A provocative new image has popped up on the Internet, and rumors are already claiming that it's from Assassin's Creed III. However, critics are already calling the shot a fake. So which is it? You be the judge...
VGHQ posted the image, which the site says was sent to them by a tipster. Readers in the post's comments section claim that it's a fake taken from Deviantart, but it's an exciting possibility nonetheless. Here's the full image:
What do you think? Could it be legit, or is it just the wishful thinking of a talented fan?
Thanks to Kyle Sondergaard for the news tip!

Wow I had just thought about the French Revolution being a future possiblilty for Assassin's Creed as I was learning about it in my college class yesterday. This is mad ironic
Assassin's Creed took place during the Crusade in the 12th Century. Assassin's Creed II took place 300 hundred years later in the Renaissance during the 15th Century. What's 300 hundred years after that? The French Revolution during the 18th Century. This is legit.
I sure hope this is for real. This series is great!
Hope it is but i doubt it.
Nope. No way Assassin's Creed is going to Paris. It doesn't fit at all.
I'll bet it's a fake, but considering where the GPS coordinates revealed at the end of the Da Vinci Disappearance I wouldn't be surprised if it involved the American Revolution.
1940's paris
those coordinates at the end of the da vinci dissapearance obviously have to do with something in the next game
BRING OUT THE MANTYHOSE
if that is real, i hope thats not the assassin you play as. they have to keep the hooded assassin and i cant see myself free running and hidden blading in that garb.
I don't know. It's too early to tell. Hopefully we can get some confirmation from Ubisoft.
Hmmm no idea if it's fake or not but I can't wait for the new Assassin's Creed game. I haven't been this into a story line since the Metal Gear Solid games.
Well, Ubi already said that more details will come out in their May report, so this could be it. I was really hoping for a 1900's assassin game set during one of the wars though (guess it wouldn't have happened though considering that they already excluded WWII). Also, if this is real, it looks like this would be a major change. I haven't beat Brotherhood yet, so I'm asking you if this has to do with the ending of Brotherhood (please don't spoil it)
honestly I think it's fake, but the french revolution would be a sweet direction to go in. Leave Ezio behind though!
the thing that excites me is not whether it is real or not; that we will find out in a matter of days, maybe less. whats really interesting is the setting...1789, paris. meaning the french revolution. meaning one of the most intruiging and influential periods in history. meaning if this turns out to be real, i will be beyond excited.
oh my god i just learned about the french revolution, i could easily explain the plot of this "rumor" but i flunked the coarse. not my fault they taught it at 7 in the *** morning. maybe this game will give the motivation i need to learn.
wow... journalism fail. Google search reveals all.
