The lights are on
[UPDATE]: GI reader revistinha1 managed to dig up a link to the original Deviantart post of the clever mockup, which we missed during our search of the social network site yesterday.
Deviantart user boup0quod is the talented artist responsible for the image, which is just one of many professional-looking posters he has done for movies and video games.
Thanks again to revisitinha1 for the tip!
[ORIGINAL STORY]: A provocative new image has popped up on the Internet, and rumors are already claiming that it's from Assassin's Creed III. However, critics are already calling the shot a fake. So which is it? You be the judge...
VGHQ posted the image, which the site says was sent to them by a tipster. Readers in the post's comments section claim that it's a fake taken from Deviantart, but it's an exciting possibility nonetheless. Here's the full image:
What do you think? Could it be legit, or is it just the wishful thinking of a talented fan?
Thanks to Kyle Sondergaard for the news tip!

i wish ac3 turns out amazing but its so fake though. i dont understand why the friggin hell ezio would be out out and that woman looks weird. besides, feudal japan would be too weird
That's quite the piece of fan art, looks nice.
The French Revolution would be ***... Napoleon fits in the vein of "misunderstood" leaders/revolutionaries ala Machiavelli and Medici.
I hope not! As much as I love Ezio, its time for a new assassin. Unless he actually goes to Paris, but he would be around 40 at the time.
Probably a fake, but Assassin's Creed is made by French Canadians so they're likely to lean towards something French in the future.
doubting it's it's legitimacy, but it would be an admittedly cool setting.
Its probably not the real deal, but i would love to see how the assassins were involved with the french revolution.
I could see it being real
it might be, brotherhood info came out a few months after #2 so who knows!
Running around killing people in a powdered wig? this cant be true. Ezio and Altaiir had semi-similar attire, Running around in that jacket and a powdered wig doesn't seem to fit Assassins creed too well. i wouldn't put my money on this one.
I personally think it's fan art. Mainly because I hear so much about people wanting it to be during the french revolution that it has a high likelihood of it being fan art, and also because the past things for Assassin's Creed has kept the red, white, blue, and black theme to their posters.
Either way it's very impressive.
Who cares about France lol, 1789... is that when the three musketeers were around and stuff?
If this is AC3 I hope they do some more spin-offs to explore other periods/settings.
No way this could be real. It seems too b movie awesome.
