The lights are on
[UPDATE]: GI reader revistinha1 managed to dig up a link to the original Deviantart post of the clever mockup, which we missed during our search of the social network site yesterday.
Deviantart user boup0quod is the talented artist responsible for the image, which is just one of many professional-looking posters he has done for movies and video games.
Thanks again to revisitinha1 for the tip!
[ORIGINAL STORY]: A provocative new image has popped up on the Internet, and rumors are already claiming that it's from Assassin's Creed III. However, critics are already calling the shot a fake. So which is it? You be the judge...
VGHQ posted the image, which the site says was sent to them by a tipster. Readers in the post's comments section claim that it's a fake taken from Deviantart, but it's an exciting possibility nonetheless. Here's the full image:
What do you think? Could it be legit, or is it just the wishful thinking of a talented fan?
Thanks to Kyle Sondergaard for the news tip!

If fake, that is a good looking fake.
But AC3 in Revolutionary France is a great idea (especially for French Canadan Ubisoft)
If this is real, it might be the greatest plot ever!
It would be awesome if it was real. But who knows?
This better be fake cause i do not want the next AC game to take place in Europe because we already had 2 AC games in Europe
Thats actually really cool and id love it but I don't think its real
I thought that Assassin's Creed III was about a Russian? Was I wrong? And this is almost undoubtedly a fake. Thanks Marchiafava.
I think after Desilets left and stole the talent Ubisoft got setback a little with AC. Even though they wanted this to be a yearly series I doubt there will be one by the end of this year. Probably 2012 and I doubt it will be the French Revolution... At least I hope not. I rather it be somewhere cooler.
I'm calling fake, Assassin's Creed never do this. For AC2,they came up out of nowhere ^_^.
The French revolution would be a pretty good fit for the series, so I hope this is real. At least, it seems entirely possible that it's real
I want it to be real sooooooooo bad!
I don't know...the French Revolution is a strange place for an assassin---there was blood being spilt everywhere! I was thinking an American Revolution storyline that would somehow tie in the assassins' way of thinking with the establishment of the republic.
