The lights are on
The original Warhawk debuted on PSone in 1995, and received a reboot for PS3 in 2007. Now a sequel for the aerial warfare game is rumored to be in development for PS3 with a launch window of 2012.
According to Just Push Start, Sony invited select players of the 2007 reboot to check out an early build of the new game. The game will feature a story mode and co-op, as well as multiplayer for up to 32 players on roughly 25 maps, according to info that reportedly leaked from the event.
Our guess is we'll hear an announcement on the developer LightBox's new game soon enough. Perhaps E3? We have contacted Sony for comment.
That could be pretty sweet. Better not see any of the super cool "I hate DNF because I hate DNF" kids stick their noses in here to say "about *** time" though.
i was late to the party for the first ps3 warhawk so will keep an eye on this one. 25 maps? co-op? offline? impressive if they can make it all work.
Cool. I dont own a PS3, but I played Warhawk at the local sony.beleive store. To bad they closed down recently. :(
I forgot all about Warhawk, looking forward to being re-acquainted.
I never played the first two but this one sounds pretty cool. With a solid single player there's less fear of no one playing it online later, rendering the game useless.
I enjoyed Warhawk for PS3 but it took forever to actually level up.
need to see some gameplay.
Eh, bought the reboot. Was NOT worth it. Everything it has was/is done better by other online games. They're going to have to show something spectacular do get me interested in the next one.
i love warhawk i haved played it for a good deal of time and am excited i finally hear something about a sequel
Sweet. I played Warhawk long before I actually got a PS3 and it was pretty fun. Not a great game by any stretch, but it was fun. If they improve on what was good about the previous one and fix what wasn't, then, like with any improved sequel, I'm sold.
Never bought Warhawk, but it always looked cool to me. Hopefully, this is for real and it'll be great when it hits.
This is great news! I hope that the sequel will have an easier way of leveling up though, took me almost a year to get to general.
I loved warhawk I can't wait for this one. I can't wait for E3!
HELL YES!! I love Warhawk! 25 maps? Holy sh!t, the last one only had about 9 or 10. Don't care about the story though.
I missed the whole ridiculous usage of "red mercury" from the first game.
