EA Hasn't Forgotten About Road Rash And Populous

by Bryan Vore on Mar 25, 2011 at 07:19 AM

In a recent interview, EA Games president Frank Gibeau referenced several long lost franchises in the company's back catalog, suggesting it may be working with the titles in the future.

Talking with CVG, Gibeau refuted suggestions that EA had locked up old franchises and thrown away the key. "Absolutely not," he said. "I worked on Desert Strike and Road Rash back in the day on Sega Genesis so trust me I'm familiar with the IP history."

While not announcing anything specific, Gibeau stokes the nostalgic fires in old school gamers' hearts with his next statement: "We constantly look at ways to grow the recent category of titles like Burnout, Need for Speed, Road Rash are constantly things we're thinking about. It's the same thing with the old Bullfrog IPs like Dungeon Keeper, Populous, Powermonger, Magic Carpet – I can go on. So we do look at that stuff and are very cognizant of our past."

Which one of these lost series would you like to see return?
