UPDATE: HD Resident Evil 4, Code Veronica X Coming To PSN & 360

by Tim Turi on Mar 24, 2011 at 06:34 AM

UPDATE: Capcom confirmed the yesterday's rumors about HD remastered versions of RE 4 and RE: Code Veronica. The titles will be arriving as downloadable titles for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Both versions of the games will be the most complete iterations possible, with RE 4 including the Ada Wong side mission, and Code Veronica X including all the extra bits with the glowing-eyed Wesker. The games are due out this fall. I cannot wait this long, however, and will be attempting to sleep away the intervening months.

ORIGINAL STORY: Be still my beating heart. There is a rumored game titled Resident Evil Revival Selection, which is a collection of two amazing games from the series remastered in high definition.

If the Famitsu-featured game ends up being a reality, you can look forward to playing Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Code Versonia on PS3 and 360. Can you imagine gawking at these two classics without the grainy haze of generation’s past? Mix in the superior Xbox 360 and PS3 controller, and you’ve got a recipe for some excited Resident Evil fans.

The Japanese magazine's preview also points to Ada’s bonus missions in Resident Evil 4 being included in the collection. Called Another Order (Separate Ways in the U.S.), the side story was introduced with the PlayStation 2 version of the game. There’s no word whether or not the supposed Code Veronica remaster will include the extra material included in Code Veronica X for the PlayStation 2. Let’s hope it does, though!

As a hard core Resident Evil fan who has been battling an itch to play Resident Evil 4 and Code Veronica, I couldn’t be more hopeful that these rumors come true.

We’ve contacted Capcom for confirmation
