New Content Coming To Rift
Trion has an alpha server up for the upcoming 1.1 patch to its MMORPG, and a horde of balance tweaks and bug fixes will be accompanying the River of Souls world event whenever it goes live.
A sneak peek of the event will hit the alpha server at 7:00 PM CST tonight, so you can see Alsbeth's latest plot to undermine the Ward yourself if you can get the alpha client up and running in time.
The current alpha patch notes can be found here, and mages should be pleased – page after page of buffs to various mage souls make up a good chunk of the notes. Some of the commonly complained-about PvP souls and abilities are being adjusted as well, like the Riftblade's Flame Spear attack getting a cooldown attached to prevent warriors from unleashing massive spammable ranged damage.
Keep in mind that the patch notes are for the pre-release alpha version of the update, and so likely will change a bit before 1.1 goes live.
