[ORIGINAL STORY]: The must-read fantasy novel is about to get an HBO TV series. Here's your chance to win a copy of the original book with a brand new cover.

George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire has been at the top of the reading list for many fantasy fans for years now. The tension-filled plot lines, complex characters, and political intrigue of the series is unlike anything else in the genre.

A new edition of the book is releasing today to help foster excitement about the upcoming HBO TV adaptation, which will begin airing in April. We've got five copies of the new edition of the first book, which we'll be giving out to our readers this week.

Just write us a comment below and answer one of two questions. If you've read some or all of A Song of Ice and Fire, tell us your favorite character. If you haven't yet had a chance to read the books, tell us your favorite fantasy novel. In both cases, for the sake of everyone involved, please avoid posting spoilers.

We'll pick out five winners at random from among those who respond and post the winners sometime tomorrow, Wednesday, March 23rd. Winners will receive a paperback copy of the new edition.

And yes, we know this isn't about a game. But if you're a gamer, and you haven't read these books yet, you're missing out.
