Square Enix Group Supports Japan Relief Efforts With 100M Yen

Today Square Enix Group announced that the organization will donate 100 million Yen (about 1.2 million US dollars) to help relief and recovery efforts in the areas affected by the Japan earthquakes and tsunami. The group will also collect donations from their employees worldwide for the disaster relief fund.

Square Enix Group donations will be sent through the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami fundraising campaign launched by the Japanese Red Cross Society.

  • Yes! A company that doesent have you "like" them just to give money to a good cause that they could have just done in the first place. Good for them.

  • A nice gesture, but unfortunately this is a tiny drop in the bucket of what the country will need to recover.

  • If only everybody would do this.

  • +1

  • Every dollar(or Yen) helps.  Thank you Square Enix, I've loved your games since childhood and am happy to hear you, as well, are helping.

  • isnt 100 million yen just 1,264,000 US still alot especially when I thought they were hurting after last year's releases

  • Nice!!! Good job! Anything helps them!

  • Very cool.

  • Good ol' Square Enix.

  • Great to hear. I wonder how people will turn this into a negative. I read on msn today that most people in Japan are very calm and collected. There has been virutally no luting, people are lining up outside the grocery stores and such waiting their turn. For all the crazy crap that Japan does culturally, they sure are disciplined when it comes down to it. Good luck to them, I fear the worst is yet to come.
  • Isn't this old news?

  • Glad they took a big steo in helping everything counts, not everyday people donates 100 million

  • good job square. love you guys.

  • yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Square Enix!

  • Wow it's funny how it sounds like so much more money when they use Yen...

  • Wasn't aware that Squeenix still had money to give, but good for them.

  • If I had and extra 100m yen lying around it would most definitely go to Japan.

  • I First Read This On Twitter And I Has Like Amazed And There From Japan Too But I Think That The NA (North America) Square Enix Donated The Money. But This Is Some Good News, They Support Them Self, Thats The Spirit Japan.
