The lights are on
Last month we learned that Warner Bros. bloody return to Mortal Kombat’s roots was going to be banned in Australia. Despite Warner Bros. appeal to Australia’s rating boards, it looks like the game still won’t be hitting the land down under.
“We’re obviously extremely disappointed that the refused classification decision has been upheld by the Classification Review Board," said a Warner Bros. representative. "We want to thank the thousands of Mortal Kombat fans in Australia and around the world who have voiced their support during the appeal process."
Mortal Kombat is too hot for Australia, but do we have any Aussie readers who are planning on importing the game anyway?

I remember getting MKII for christmas one year. If my parents knew the content I would have been in trouble. I would just do friendships as finishers when my mom was in the room.
I suppose this shouldn't come as a shock anymore. Well, they can always import games.
Thats gotta suck for hardcore Aussie gamers. I would be importing games like crazy if i lived there.
Too bad for Australia.
The fact that a toned-down version was rejected as well, makes me plenty excited for the full thing in the US.
Although this is disapointing, I woiuld like to know how they appealed to ther ratings board. I mean did they cut out all the blood, x-ray moves and finishers, or did they simply tone down the blood a bit.
That's d*mn shame for Aussie gamers not being able to enjoy new MK game like we Americans will do so. Pity.
that sucks, hopefully they import the game so they can play it, I played the demo, friggin epic...
