When Valve head honcho Gabe Newell isn't handing out his Steam login info, he keeps himself busy with other important tasks -- such as refusing to drop any hints about a seemingly inevitable Counter-Strike sequel.

In the video below, Newell gets noticeably dismissive when the interviewer asks him about Counter-Strike 2. "We have to ship Portal 2 and DOTA 2, and then we'll worry about Counter-Strike 2," he says before refusing to comment further. Ah well, back to wishing, huh?

It certainly would be interesting to see how newer gamers in the shooter genre would take to a fresh iteration of counter-strike, but until its announced ill just let Valve do what they do.

I would hope to Jesus that not every person in the industry just takes requests from the crowd. "Oh yeah here is the preview for CS2 and a demo for everyone in the crowd!" And then he proceeds to give out free counterstrike 2 coupons to everyone. Perhaps if he was drunk. Liquor him up and ask him.

Not trying to be a jerk but Gabe needs to loose some weight. It would be a terrible shame for the industry to loose him to a heart attack or any of the other obesity related deaths.

I believe Valve has a phobia of sequels, at least past the number 2.

Left 4 Dead 2, Half Life 2, Half Life 2 Episode 2, Portal 2, and Dota 2, do they believe in the number 3?

Still, Conterstike 2 would be nice. Half Life (anything with 3) would be better.

I would like to add one more thing. Mr. Gabe, buddy, if you don't quite letting on to games that are in development or under wraps I will be forced to take action. I will come to your house ad leave a nasty letter, that will show him!

Counter Strike 2? I'm not sure. The CS feel is starting to feel dated. I would like to see how they expand the game without it beginning to feel like Call of Duty.

I would love to see a CS 2, but I doubt he can stick with the kind of gameplay that hardcore cs players like and still make a big profit from it.
